Year 4
Reading
Your child will come home with 2 rainbow of reading books on a Monday. We ask that you keep these at home until Friday when they will need to be returned. We will check the reading records every Friday and we are expecting all children to read at least 4 times a week.
Spelling
Spellings will be tested every Monday. Please practise these regularly at home.
When a child has reached the end of the galaxy of spellings, they will be tested on a mixed set of 10 words from the Year 3-4 progression set.

Times Tables
Times tables are very important in Year 4. By June, your child is expected to know all tables up to 12 x 12. We will be focusing on different times tables each half term. There will be no set day for testing of times tables. Please help your child to learn their tables by practising at least 3 times a week. Remember to use Times Tables Rockstars.
For the rest of the year we will be focusing on all times tables up to 12 x 12.
