Welcome to Year 6, we hope you had a fantastic summer. Below you will find useful information for the year ahead.

PE

This half term our PE lessons will be on Tuesday and Wednesdays.

Please ensure your child/children have appropriate PE kit in school on these days.

Spellings

This term spellings will be set on Tuesday (a recap of Y3/4 words, to be tested on Thursday) and on Thursdsay (new rules and patterns for Y5/6 words to be tested on Tuesday) Children should bring home a copy of their spelling words on these days to learn for the upcoming test. 

Reading

This year we will continue to use Accelerated Reader, as this exciting way of reading allows your child/children to quiz on the books they have read using their unique log in. Once they have quizzed once in school, they can log in to their account and quiz at home, using the link below.

Maths

Each week the children will be given a half arithmetic paper in order to develop and secure calculation skills. The questions are of a similar style each week and with regular practise at school and at home, children will become more confident with these types of questions. 

We will also complete a weekly times table test using the 'Mountain Challenge'
