At The Vine, our aim has always been to provide freshly-prepared, locally-sourced, tasty meals for the children to enjoy. We encourage our children to make good choices about food; learning about food groups and nutrition is part of our curriculum. Children are taught that healthy eating provides fuel for their bodies, giving them energy and helping them to focus on their learning. In addition everyone is encouraged to drink water so that they 'water their brain'.
In October 2006 we opened our very own Vine Cafe serving freshly cooked school lunches. We developed a whole school food culture where children learn about growing, cooking and eating a variety of foods. This whole school approach continues today with a dedicated gardening gang tending the allotment and a popular Golden Time cooking club.
In October 2016 The Vine took the decision to find a catering company who shares this whole school vision. Caterlink are currently the school meal provider, building on the strong foundations that already exist. We look forward to building our new partnership.
And finally, as some children and adults are allergic to nuts - please remember that The Vine School is a nut-free zone!
