Week Commencing: Monday 29th June
Welcome Back Year 6!
How are you? It was a very busy week for us last week as we were finalising all the plans for your transition sessions starting this week; we are very much looking forward to seeing you! There is lots of information in the weekly update this week, so make sure you read it carefully before starting your learning. Have a fantastic week!
Weekly Foundation Subjects Overview:
Here are your tasks for the foundation subjects this week. Remember, 2 of these slots are dedicated to your transition sessions in school. If you are not attending, go through the PowerPoint (which will be uploaded later in the week) at home and follow the advice on there.
Year 6 Leavers' Song
Now that you have learnt the song, this week we would like you to rehearse with the backing track and become confident in singing it without Miss Foster and Mr Morgan.

It's Friday! We made it! Hasn't this week flown by? It's another exciting day as it's Miss Foster's turn in school with her bubbles today! We really hope you have enjoyed your transition sessions this week, it has been great to see lots of your smiling faces again. If you are not attending the sessions, don't forget that the PowerPoint is on the website (with the foundation subject tasks) for you to have a look at.
How are you getting on with our song? It is really important that you learn it well as we are moving into the recording phase next week!
Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend Year 6!
COMPETITION TIME!!! This week marked 100 days of lockdown so this week's competition is... The Lockdown Photo Competition! We would like you to take a photo to summarise what lockdown has been for you. It could be a picture of your daily walk, of you doing your remote learning, your video calls, a new hobby you have taken up, being really fed up with nothing to do etc. (You can choose whether to be in the photo or not.) Please email your photos in to use by 2pm today. The best photos will be chosen as our winners and be announced later today Good luck!
WINNERS!!! You have sent in some great photos this week. Our winners are... Ethan, Abi and Kitty! Congratulations!

Thursday 2nd July 2020
Good morning Year 6! It's another exciting day as Mrs Thompson's bubbles are in school for the first time again today! Have fun!
Please remember that even if you are in school for a transition session, you still need to email us at least once a week. (For those of you not in school, it is still twice a week.) We haven't heard from many of you yet this week so try to email us as soon as you can so that we don't have to chase you. Try to tell us about something different in your emails today - something you have been doing at home outside of your learning or an interesting fact that you have learnt.
Have a lovely Thursday, here are your English and Maths tasks...
Wednesday 1st July 2020
July! How did we get to July so quickly? Wow, time really does fly! How are you today? We hope you are well. If you were in school yesterday, how did it go? Did you have fun? Mrs Irish said she could hear your beautiful singing from the learning centre but Mr Richardson said you need to practise a bit more too! Don't forget to rehearse the song every single day as we will be moving into the recording stage next week.

Tuesday 30th June 2020
Happy Tuesday! It's an exciting day today as Mr Richardson's transition bubbles are having their first session today! Just a reminder that you should not be bringing bags into school with you. You only need a water bottle, sun hat/rain jacket (depending on the weather), any medication you need (only essential medication - you are only in school for 2 hours!) and yourself. Also, if you have any books that belong to Mrs Thompson, Miss Foster or the school, you should bring these with you and place them in our drop box on your way in. If you need to bring a phone with you that is ok but try to bring as little as possible to school with you to reduce the risk of any nasty germs/viruses spreading. If you are in school today, you are going to have an amazing time so have fun!
You may have also noticed a new FAQ page on our Year 6 page. This is so we can collate any questions you have about transition and try our best to answer them. We will discuss this more in your transition sessions (and on the PPT if you are not attending).

Happy Monday Year 6! Did you have a good weekend?
Important note for parents: If your child is attending the transition sessions, please check that you received our email on Friday containing details of the sessions starting this week. It seems we may have had a few issues with parents not receiving our emails so please let us know as soon as possible if you did not receive the letter. (You may want to check your junk inbox just in case.)
