PE
This half term, PE will normally take place on Mondays and Thursdays.
Please make sure your child comes to school on these days wearing their navy blue PE kit and trainers.
Home Learning
Pick and Mix Project
In Year 3 children are expected to complete at least 3 tasks from the pick and mix grid each half term. These can be found in pupils' red home learning books. Compulsory tasks include Maths, English and RE. Please check the date on the grid for the deadline.
Reading
Children should be reading for 10 minutes every day in Year 3. Once they have finished reading their book, they must complete the corresponding quiz on the Accelerated Reader website. Teachers will check reading progress weekly. You can find the link to the Accelerated Reader website below.
Spelling
Spellings will be set each Tuesday and tested on the following Tuesday. These will be set electronically via The Spelling Shed and a paper copy of the spellings will be send home. Your child should aim to complete at least 5 spelling activities on The Spelling Shed each week. As well as using The Spelling Shed, spellings can also be practised using a range of handwritten methods such as:

Times Tables
Each Friday, the children will practise their times tables in the Times Table Mountain Challenge. The levels are as follows:

The children will be expected to record their scores in their reading record. To progress to the next times table, the children must score 40/40 two weeks in a row. Below are some links to online times table games to help the children practise at home.
