In Year 1 we have been investigating where our food comes from. We all knew that we can buy food from the shops but wondered where the shops get the food from. We have found out that most of our food is either grown, for example, wheat, fruit and vegetables, or reared. This means it comes from animals and includes meat, milk, fish and eggs. We then sorted different foods into those which are grown and those which are reared. We also watched some short videos and learnt how potatoes, wheat, bananas and pineapples are grown. We are going to learn about the different food groups and will be planning and making a healthy sandwich. Watch this space!
