  • Anti-Bullying Week 2021

    Wed 24 Nov 2021

As part of Anti-Bullying Week we came to school wearing odd socks! This was to show how we are all unique and different and how it is important to be kind to each other and respect each other's differences. In several year groups children have been busy decorating their own pair of odd socks.

The children have also been engaged in activities to start a chain reaction of kind words. Year 2 has decorated their classroom with a real paper chain of kind words.

  • Vision Day Friday 19th November 2021

    Tue 23 Nov 2021

Today in school we have had our Vine Vision Day. The aim of today was for all of our pupils to develop a greater understanding of our Vision and Values.

The day was split into 4 parts, with each year group taking part in a range of lessons both inside and outside.

The success criteria for the day was the following:

    • I can say our Vine Vision prayer and know that it is our school vision.
    • I can name our Vine Values and definitions.
    • I can describe what is ‘The Great Commission’ (Matthew 28) and know that this is the biblical rooting of our school vision.
    • I can be part of a prayer space activity and know the purpose of our classroom prayer space.

It has been an enjoyable day for everyone with some amazing learning produced. Today, each pupil will be bringing home the expectations for home learning for their year group. One of the activities set is linked to our Vine Vision. We look forward to your child being able to share this with us, later on this term.

  • Year 6 Cambridgeshire English Challenge

    Tue 09 Nov 2021

On Monday evening, 8 members of Year 6 competed in the Cambridgeshire English Challenge (an English competition between local Cambridgeshire schools). Our 2 teams did very well in answering questions in three different rounds: Book Knowledge, Bookish Brain Teasers and General English Skills. Unfortunately, neither of our teams won but we had lots of fun! Well done Year 6!

  • Harvest Festival Celebrations 2021

    Wed 03 Nov 2021 Year 4

This year to celebrate Harvest Festival, Year 4 prepared a whole school worship. The worship focused on what Harvest is, when it’s celebrated and what this means to us at The Vine. We looked at our International links and looked at what foods are grown in the places we have connections with as well as looking at different times of the year that Harvest is celebrated around the world. Year 4 read poems and prayers. FS2 sang ‘The Farmer Plants the Seeds’. Unfortunately, due to ongoing Covid restrictions our worship could only be shared with the whole school virtually.

As part of our Harvest celebrations, we held a whole school non- uniform day to raise money for Jimmy’s Night Shelter, Cambridge and our Kenyan partner school. In total, we raised a brilliant £330. We were very grateful for everyone’s contribution. Thank you.
