Pupil Premium & Catch Up Funding

“Go and make followers of all the nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.20 Teach them to do all the things I have told you”- Matthew 28:16-20

We live the example set in the Great Commission (Mathew 28) and when we plan our Pupil Premium pupils we always remember that:

This is our school. Let peace dwell here

Let the rooms be full of contentment.

Let love abide here.

Love of one another, love of mankind, love of life itself and love of God.

Let us remember that as many hands build a house, so many hearts create  a school.

In 2011 the Government launched Pupil Premium funding. The pupil premium is additional funding given to state schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. The funding is allocated to schools with pupils from Reception to Y11 who:

  • are eligible for free school meals (FSM) or who have registered for FSM within the last 6 years
  • are looked after (LAC)
  • have parents currently in the Armed Forces.

Pupil Premium funding is allocated to ensure pupils reach their full potential, both academically and socially. It has provided funding for schools to commission services that support these pupils. These services are wide ranging, for example, counsellors to support pupils emotionally; additional adult support to listen to children reading and funded places at Breakfast Club in order to promote a calm and punctual start to the school day.

The school therefore asks all families who are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) to register on http://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals .

Although all Reception / KS1 pupils receive a free meal as part of the government’s Universal Infant FSM (UIFSM) programme, unless eligible families register for FSM the school will not receive the Pupil Premium funding.

Please read the documents below to see reports on how Pupil Premium has been allocated in recent years. These plans and expenditure are reviewed annually in September.
