Welcome Back Year 6!

It's DT week!

We hope you had a restful weekend and you are now ready to get stuck in to your remote learning again. It's DT week this week. This means that the majority of your Foundation Subjects learning is dedicated to DT where you will be designing and making your own marble runs. We can't wait to see what you come up with! Have a fantastic week and enjoy your learning.

Before you start, here is your weekly update...

Weekly Foundation Subjects Overview:

Here are your tasks for the foundation subjects this week...

(Remember, the Science learning is a bit of a sensitive topic this week so make sure your grown-up knows what you are learning about!)

Friday 19th June 2020

It's Friday! We made it! Well done to everyone for working so hard on their remote learning this week. The examples of learning that you have sent in have been excellent. We truly have been blown away by your marble runs - you are such a creative bunch!

We hope that by now you have all received and read our letter that was sent via ParentMail yesterday, and that you are just as excited as we are about seeing you again for a few transition sessions!! laugh Please remember to email your responses to the letter to the office as soon as you can so that we can start preparing your bubbles.

Have a lovely Friday and a fantastic weekend everyone!

Have a look at some of your fantastic marble run videos on the video resource page!

COMPETITION TIME!!! It's Friday which means it's competition day. This week's competition is... The Crazy Hair Competition! Good morning Year 6. We think it will be wet play today, don't you? Perfect weather for reading! It seems like many of you have spent lots of time reading during lockdown so we would like to know, what are your top 3 book recommendations that you think every child should read by the time they finish Year 6? Email your suggestions to us when you next check-in. (Please remember that it is nearing the end of the week so we will be contacting you soon if we have not heard from you yet.)

Parents - Please look out for an important letter coming your way very soon via ParentMail.

Here are your English and Maths tasks for today, enjoy!

Wednesday 17th June 2020

It's Wednesday, we made it to the middle of the week! How are you? We hope that you and your families are all well. It's another sunny morning, but we don't know how long it will last so we'd better make the most of it.

Are you up for a challenge? We challenge you to get Opal and Pearl classes up to 100% attendance with your emails this week. Let's see if both Year 6 classes can win on Friday! We think you can do it so, if you haven't already emailed in, make sure you do it soon. Have a lovely day. Here are your English and Maths tasks...

Tuesday 16th June 2020

Good morning Year 6! Happy Tuesday! We hope you are enjoying DT week, it looks like lots of you are having fun designing and making your marble runs. We have had a few emails and questions asking why there aren't as many Foundation Subjects this week... always remember RTFQ! (The answer to your question is written in several places on the website, including on the Foundation Subject overview. Please read it carefully.) Fun Fact: Did you know that marbles were invented thousands of years ago, and were a popular item in Ancient Egypt and Rome?

Have a lovely day, here are your English and Maths tasks...
