Reading:

Pupils in Year 5 should be reading for at least 15 minutes every day. Once they have finished reading their book, they must complete the corresponding quiz on the Accelerated Reader website. Teachers will check reading progress weekly. Please click on the link below to find more information about Accelerated Reader.

Pupils should also aim to complete the 6 Book Challenge by the end of Year 5. Once they have finished reading each book, they should complete a book review and then return to the class teacher. They will then be given their next book to enjoy. Please note, a record of which books are taken out is kept by the class teacher. If a book is lost of damaged, please report to the class teacher. Spellings:

Weekly spelling tests will be every Tuesday

These tests consist of 10 words based on the weekly spelling rule. Pupils are expected to practise their spellings through completing the activities set on Spelling Shed each week.
