Learning Mentors

Learning Mentors form an important and valued part of The Vine Learning Community. Many are parents and carers; some are on a work placement and others are wanting to gain more experience in a school environment before going on to do further studies in education. Our learning mentors are of all ages. We always have a place for those of you who feel that you have something to give to the school; our learning mentors act as excellent role models for our pupils.

We welcome those of you who can give even an hour of your time to help support the pupils’ learning. Some learning mentors come in and read with pupils first thing in the morning others support class, group, or individual learning at different times throughout the week.

If you are interested in being a Learning Mentor at The Vine, please speak to Mrs Singleterry in the office. All Learning Mentors come to an induction meeting and are then taken on a learning walk around the school. These inductions are invaluable as they allow us time to share our school ethos, child protection procedures, administrative duties and the school policy on health and safety. After which you will complete a DBS check and then be assigned to the chosen year group/activity etc.
