Mr Doidge kayaked out to Old Harry Rocks in Dorset and showed us the clear sea.

Mrs Brunsting – ‘Well done, Mr Doidge. A great way to keep fit and enjoy the beautiful coast and super clear water.

Year 1 showed us the latest moves on the dancefloor!

Emerald Class – ‘We loved the energy of Year 1’s dance. The dynamics and style of music were great. The children showed lots of expression and concentration. It made us want to dance.’

Coral class sang beautifully about calling 999 in an emergency!

Opal Class – ‘I liked how they used the melody of 3 blind mice but changed the lyrics to learn about the emergency services.

An Opal class pupil showed us his bike skills.

Tanzanite Class – ‘I was impressed by the power that he’d need from his legs to get up the steep hills. He showed good use of balance and control’.

Emerald Class - 'Wow! An extreme performance. He was really concentrating when jumping the ramps.’

An Opal class pupil sang ‘How Far I'll Go’ from Disney’s Moana.

Opal Class – ‘Clear structure despite being a capella. Sang melody perfectly – sounded just like Moana.’

Emerald Class - 'We liked the tempo and dynamics of the song. We were impressed with how clearly and fluently she sang and we enjoyed the chorus.’

A Turquoise class pupil played ‘DEFinitely‘ on the Glockenspiel.

Opal Class – ‘He played the ‘glockenspiel' with good technique – the sound really rang out.’

Emerald Class - 'What a great performance! He was really concentrating and keeping a steady tempo.'

An Amethyst class pupil read us a beautiful poem.

Opal Class – ‘The poem was about the colours of Spring which made me look forward to Summer. I liked how she read it at a constant tempo.'

Emerald Class - 'We liked the rhymes and the tempo. We could see all the blue things described in our imagination. Great descriptions!'

Two Year 2 girls sang an a cappella version of ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno’.

Jade Class – ‘We were really impressed that they knew the words so well of this long song.'

Emerald Class –‘We liked the expression, style and structure of the song. The lyrics were clear and the timbre was good.’

A Turquoise class pupil showed us a classic Indian Kathak dance.

Sapphire Class – ‘I liked that she represented her culture and country through her performance.'

Emerald Class - 'The dance was very expressive. It was a lovely dance and had great dynamics. We liked the style and the bells.’

2 pupils in Year 6 performed their own poems about bravery.

Opal Class – ‘I like the way that they wrote it freestyle (half rhyming, half not) and it retells the story quite well.'

Amethyst Class - 'I like how she linked the story and poem together. I like the word choice.’

A girl in Year 2 showed us her Rollerskating skills!

Opal Class – ‘The video shows she has been practicing for a long time and has perfected her skill.'

Emerald Class - 'She was very brave! She used her feet and arms to balance. She used control to lean around corners.'

Ruby Class – ‘I felt happy seeing myself on screen. I liked doing the singing.'

Tanzanite Class - 'We liked the increase in dynamics on the chorus where they were more confident. Well done!'

Ruby Class – ‘I liked the funny words in the story.'

Opal Class - ’We liked how fluently she read and how she kept the rhythm without stammering. The expressions she gave really brightened our day too.'

Ruby Class – ‘The lyrics were from Frozen. They all sang together.’

Jasper Class – ‘We thought they sang in unison and timed the tempo correctly. It wasn't too fast or too slow.’

Turquoise class performed a superb song and dance routine to 'Fruits of the Spirit'.

Tanzanite Class – ‘I liked the lyrics with the catchy melody as they represent the Vine Values and helps you to remember them.’

Jasper Class – ‘We liked that the Vine Values were used and had actions for each Value. They did really well to control the dynamics of the song.'’

A Year 4 pupil showed us his wonderful tennis skills set to music.

Ruby Class – ‘I liked it when he flipped the racket. How did he do all those skills? He must have practised a lot.’

Coral Class – ‘He was in time with the music. I liked the focus, it was controlled. Good control over the ball.’

Ruby Class – ‘The tempo made me feel excited. It made us feel happy.’

Sapphire Class – ‘We thought the tempo was amazing – it was so unpredictable that it made us want to hear more.'

Turquoise Class – ‘We loved that they were all in unison and kept good timing.’

 

Opal Class – ‘I liked how they were all in unison and how they copied each other. The timing was great.’

A Year 1 pupil sang ‘Silent Night’ in German!

Quartz class ‘It was incredible to hear a familiar song in a different language. I could hear where the repeated sections were very clearly and I was amazed that he knows a second language.’

 

Opal class ‘ It’s very impressive that a Year 1 can memorise a Christmas Carol in German! He simply mastered the lyrics.’

Quartz class: ‘In the 2nd video I liked the expression because the way they raised their voice while

reading an exclamation is really good for a year 1.’

 

Opal class ‘I liked the intonation in the second poem as she used it in phrases like “stop it”.

Iolite Class - 'We liked the tempo and how they kept to the repeated beat. The lyrics gave us a good recap of the Vine Values'

 

Tanzanite Class - 'I think this was a very unique style compared to other musicians we've heard. The beat boxing background helped to keep a pulse and rhythm. Great job Y6!'

Opal Class - 'I liked the choreography which was led by one and the others followed in time. They worked well together as a team adopting the appropriate style, and using expressions to convey this.'

 

Quartz Class - 'I think the expressions were really good and you can tell that they are fierce. The timing was in unison.'

Magical piano playing.

Iolite Class - 'The melody was really soothing and it made me feel relaxed. I really enjoyed it.'

 

Quartz Class - 'I enjoyed how the texture varied as sometimes she was playing only one note and at other times she played a chord. The style was a waltz and was very relaxing which I really liked.'

Quartz Class - 'She was very brave to sing without vocals in the backing track and to learn the lyrics so well. She kept up clear and loud dynamics throughout her performance so we could hear her very well.'

A fabulous Gymnastics performance.

Opal Class - 'The performance made us feel happy; the choreography was well practised and her timing was 'on point'!’

 

Year 6 - 'The choreography was planned really well and was in perfect timing with the music. The levels changed throughout the performance and she used all of the area in her routine.'

Year 5 – ‘It sounded like the cello was singing the lyrics!’

 

Jade Class – ‘The cello makes me feel peaceful and calm. It reminds me of being in a church.’

Opal Class – ‘The melody was instantly recognisable as the Harry Potter theme tune!’
